Here is why more Veterans in politics gives me hope for the future
Despite our divided politics, one area that gives me hope is the increasing number of military veterans that are returning to public service– on both sides of the aisle. My optimism is grounded in the shared experiences that so many of us had since 9/11 when we deployed around the world in service to the country.
One of the developments stemming from that experience is the formation of Veterans for Political Innovation. Todd Connor, a Veteran and friend, founded VPI to take actional steps to improve our politics.
Over the summer, Todd and I sat down for a discussion about VPI, USTomorrow, Rank Choice Voting, and why both of us remain optimistic about the future.
I invite you to check the conversation here and let me know where you think we got it right, what we got wrong, and what you think is missing.
Take care,
Joseph
