Before 2024, here are four more worthy missions to explore

Before the New Year, I wanted to share four organizations that have inspired me to do more and to find ways to support worthy causes that are making a difference with important missions.

Exposing Neo-Nazis

First, many have been shocked over the last several years by the rise of Neo-Nazi’s living and operating openly in the United States. That is until Task Force Butler. TF Butler is a 501c3 nonprofit which trains veterans in research and operations to counter extremism, teaching the skills and context necessary to keep veterans and their communities safe as they gather intelligence on dangerous individuals and organizations. Domestic extremist organizations are growing in membership, activity levels, and sophistication — and they aren’t being met with meaningful and effective opposition. Learn more here about Task Force Butler and consider supporting them today.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders

As I have said for years, “People Will Be What They Can See.” Naturally, I have been inspired by the work of the African American Leadership Institute. Over the last several years, they have trained larger and larger cohorts of leaders across all sectors of society. Through their work, each new Fellow provides not only leadership but role modeling to inspire the next generation of servant leaders in our society. You can learn more about how to support them here.

Pushing back against anti-semitism

Third, the horrific terror attacks against the Jewish population on October 7th exposed terrible ignorance among so many Americans that fail to see the difference between a terrorist organization like Hamas and the plight of the Palestinian people. Worse, many of those same people fall prey to anti-semetic views that conflate military operations by the IDF with the unspeakable horror of Hamas terrorists. There is no equivalency. Then, that breeds anti-Jewish rhetoric that helps no one. Please consider supporting the Anti-Defamation League as they work to root out those that wish to spread hate.

Supporting our Military, Veterans, and their Families

On a personal note, I have been working with the University of Texas at Austin across a number of programs to support our military, veterans and their families. The work they are doing not only promotes our national security but creates opportunities for our veterans and their families — it’s the perfect way to say thank you for all their efforts. You can donate here to boost their efforts.

No matter how you choose to support your community, consider ways to give back through your time, treasure or talents in 2024.

Also please consider sharing this with friends that you feel would want to join in.

Have a Safe and Happy New Year.
